Papa John, the pizza chain that has enjoyed success in a niche of the restaurant industry, is closing in two weeks.
The company says it will close restaurants across the United States, with the last of its restaurants opening in Philadelphia on Oct. 2.
The company says the move is in line with the company’s goal of becoming a “sustainable pizza company.”
Papa John’s will shut its doors to its restaurant and retail operations and to employees who work at the company.
It is offering full refunds to those who signed up for a “paid leave of absence” in lieu of an emergency leave.
Papa Johns spokesman Chris Mennell said the company has reached out to employees to provide them with information on how to access benefits.
