Papa John’s to start selling pizza in Idaho, with 1,500 stores in the state

Papa Johns announced it is bringing the popular pizza chain to Idaho, the first of its kind in the U.S. and a sign of the growing appetite for pizza in the country.

The chain said on Monday that it will open its first Idaho restaurant, which will be a 1,501-square-foot store in Boise, on Thursday, and will be open for a year.

The new location will be at 819 S. Main St., about six blocks south of Idaho State Capitol.

The restaurant will feature a full-service bar and full-size outdoor patio, according to the company.

Papa Johns also is expanding its offerings in the Idaho market.

The fast-casual chain announced plans in January to open its second location in the city of Boise, located at 703 S. Broadway Ave.

The chain said the new location is expected to open in 2019.
